In June 2015 some of Lifepatch member including me attending the OK. Video, one of the divisions in ruangrupa, contemporary art organization founded in 2000 by a group of artists in Jakarta is active in advancing art ideas within the urban context and the wider scope of culture through exhibitions, festivals, art labs, workshops, research, and publishing books, magazines, and journals.
Period 2008-2014, OK. Video focus on the development of video art in Indonesia. The rapid development of audiovisual technology push this division to open up to the novelty of the idea of collaboration and cross the arts, science, media, and technology through various programs, such as festivals, fairs and pertujukan media arts, workshops, documentation, production, and distribution of artwork Indonesian media.
In 2015, OK. Video develop themselves institutionally festival and decided to change his name from the Jakarta International Video Festival became Indonesia Media Arts Festival. This is both a prelude to the event OK. Video in the coming years who decided to expand the artistic medium and presenting the works of more diverse. OPEN LAB
Open Lab is one of the programs under the New Order, OK. Video – Indonesia Media Arts Festival 2015. The program invites four communities that work with the creative application of technology to work together to integrate, exchange and produce a collaborative work within the time duration of 5 days during the festival. 4 this community is guided during the time duration by curators who have been selected and their work is based on the idea of the theme of the festival is OK. Video this time, the “New Order”.
we collaborate each other and make a lot of art works. at the end we exhibited all of the works that done as a presentation in the last days of OpenLab2015.
